Selectif Electrolysis - Introduction
This is the first clinically proven ultrasound-based hair removal
device. And what makes it so special is that it is effective on all
hair and skin colours – your hair can be fair, red or grey, and your
skin can even be tanned.
Selectif Pro is also an effective
hair-removal solution for delicate areas such as the eyebrows, face and
bikini line. This is because the ultrasound waves are delivered
directly to the hair shaft and bulb, without causing pain or discomfort
to the surrounding skin. Studies have shown that Selectif Pro can

The lowdown
The
ultrasound waves are absorbed by the melanin in the hair and
surrounding melanin-containing cells (melanocytes). The light
emitted from the ultrasound waves heats the hair follicle causing
long-term damage to the hair bulb. The damaged hair subsequently falls
off.
How long does the procedure take?
Depending
on the size of the area, the duration of treatment will vary from
person to person. Selectif Pro will usually treat 15 to 20
individual hairs per minute.

What happens during the procedure?
This
is a hair-by-hair treatment, whereby a specially engineered ultrasonic
probe (which is like a tiny pair of tweezers) individually channels
ultrasound energy to each hair bulb where it is converted to heat,
destroying the follicle. Due to the device’s efficient heat
delivery system, you will feel no pain or discomfort.
How long will my recovery be and what can I expect?
Recovery
is immediate, and there is no after care required. You may choose to
wear loose clothing for a few hours following so as to not irritate the
area.

As your hair grows in cycles you will generally benefit from a series of treatments every 4-6 weeks for up to 12 months.
