Introduction to Thermage ™

What does it do?

Heats and causes contraction of collagen fibers and stimulation of new collagen production

Only moderate “heat” sensation controlled by continual feedback between clinician and client
No down time afterwards
No abnormal redness, swelling or pigmentation
Suitable for all skin types, thus for all Asian and African darker skin types
- As with all cosmetic procedures, Thermage™ must be used only by well trained qualified clinician who are careful and precise in it’s use

Face and neck – generally, to lift and tighten and firm sagging collagen that is losing it’s elasticity and support
Specific areas – such as, upper and low eyelids and forehead; neck and jaw line
Body areas – where skin has lost it’s elasticity and support
- abdomen
- thighs and around knees
- buttocks
- upper arms
- It will tighten skin, but it is not effective for removing areas of fat, or where skin has been too damaged and stretched
- However, it can be a complementary treatment to aid those procedures used for this such as liposuction, surgery and mesotherapy

The procedure takes from one to two hours
Half the improvement occurs almost immediately in the first few days and the other half gradually over six months as new collagen is produced
Results last for about two years

Although Thermage™ tightens and stimulates collagen under the skin, it does not repair:

significant sun damage
pigmentation
acne or acne scarring
course textural pores
capillaries or facial veins or redness
hair removal
- These are best treated with other appropriate light therapies such as Fraxel, Starlux 500 IPL, Gemini Vascular Laser and Candella GentleLase
- Thermage™ does however compliment these other treatments with additive synergies due to its skin tightening and deep collagen stimulation
- Each client needs to be individually accessed and given all options as to what is best for them
